Today’s been a long time coming. Because today, the Senate unanimously passed a resolution recognizing the Armenian Genocide.
Former U.N. Ambassador Samantha Power welcomed this news:
MAJOR: the US Senate just recognized the #ArmenianGenocide. @realDonaldTrump should now follow suit, on behalf of all the victims & survivors of the genocide & the millions of Armenian-Americans who have fought so hard for this day. https://t.co/xBkENAKQaJ

It is major, Samantha. Funny, though. You didn’t always seem to think it was so major.
You keep making a point you don't think you're making.

Indeed.
Why wasn't it recognized before? https://t.co/Vzt5gOocnJ

I don’t remember her talking about this during the 8 years the Obama administration refused to pass it.
I wonder why….. https://t.co/v3P07Xs38J

Why didn’t this get done during the Obama administration?
— Thirty Tyrants Ϡ (@ThirtyTyrants) December 12, 2019
Question. When exactly did you pressure Obama to do this? Publicly?
— ridiculous (@corben15) December 12, 2019

Donald Trump could — and should — absolutely stand up to Turkey and Erdogan and very publicly recognize the Armenian Genocide for what it was. That said, the victims got a hell of a lot more recognition during the Trump administration than they ever got under Barack Obama’s.
8 years. 8 years your admin rejected this.

I still can't believe you couldn't get @BarackObama to keep his promise and acknowledge the #ArmenianGenocide when he was @POTUS.
— Posh (@NersesAposhian) December 12, 2019
You literally had 8 years to do the same thing — YOU FAILED
— Estefan Collyer (@TacAirlifter) December 12, 2019
You did nothing when you could have fought for it during the Obama administration. Spare me.
— LD (@dtrdspring) December 12, 2019
Spare all of us.
Sit this one out Sam… ?
