You know, we’d been thinking to ourselves, what this whole news cycle has really been missing is an opinion piece from James Comey. Well, lucky for us, apparently James Comey was thinking the same thing:

It brought him no joy. Except for the joy he gets from patting himself on the back.

He’ll never delete his account. He’s got too much to share with the world — whether the world likes it or not:

Comey writes:

“But more often, proximity to an amoral leader reveals something depressing. I think that’s at least part of what we’ve seen with Bill Barr and Rod Rosenstein. Accomplished people lacking inner strength can’t resist the compromises necessary to survive Mr. Trump and that adds up to something they will never recover from. It takes character like Mr. Mattis’s to avoid the damage, because Mr. Trump eats your soul in small bites.”

You can dislike Donald Trump. You can think he has a corrupting influence. But when you start holding James Comey up as the voice of morality and reason — as Comey is doing with himself — that’s just going too damn far.

He sold his own soul for some magic beans.

That’s it in a nutshell. And speaking of sad, how sad is it when even a CNN firefighter’s had enough of Comey’s schtick?

A-freakin’-men.
