As Twitchy told you, an NBC spokesperson has confirmed that Megyn Kelly has been purged from the network’s lineup. Kelly’s offense certainly wasn’t fireable on its face, so it seems pretty safe to say that NBC was just looking for a reason to give her the boot.
Ever since Kelly initially made her remarks about dressing up as other races for Halloween — and subsequently apologized — many SJWs have been champing at the bit to see her fired … which is what makes this take from Cenk Uygur yesterday so surprising:
I can't believe @megynkelly was fired. I 100% disagree with the decision. I think what she said was wrong and I totally disagree with her politics but firing her over that comment is not remotely the right way to handle this. Talk about it on-air instead! More speech, not less.

Wow.

Needless to say, many of Uygur’s followers were upset with him for defending Kelly:
this ain’t it chief dot com.

You’ve jumped the shark. Jesus.

There’s a difference between free speech and getting paid millions to do the whole “me, a racist?” routine.
There are a multitude of good, intelligent, and honest people out there to choose from. No need to listen to what she has to say.

Really? I disagree. Last straw. I think with anyone else that'd be fair, but she's on thin ice. Then again, they never should have hired her in the first place.
— Aveline (@trueaveline) October 25, 2018
Right. We need more debate about whether racism is racist or not. Jury's still out on that one.
— Jim Earl (@jimearl666) October 25, 2018
So we should allow her to explain her racism? Uh, No. It's time for bigots and racists to understand that their privilege does not matter to us. Our lives over their privilege.
— Anthony Beckford?? (@Vote4Beckford) October 26, 2018
Dude is this a joke? You don’t stop racism by continuing to pay the racist to talk about it on air. The way to start disarming a racist is to take away her platform, and Megyn Kelly has been saying racist things for far too long. This is not a good look for you.
— Spoopy Navi ? @ EGLX (@littlenavi_) October 26, 2018
Dude are you seriously going to pretend like she wasn’t spouting all kinds of racism at Fox? She only appeared credible because she got on the wrong side of Trump and that got her hired at NBC.
— Carny AssAAAAAAHHHHdist!! ?? (@oldmanbackagain) October 26, 2018
Um soooo there is no constitutional protection for being an ignorant fragile white woman on TV. Why can't you believe it? But this actually explains a lot about the issues and anti-blackness of your organization.
— Anoa J. Changa ? (@TheWayWithAnoa) October 26, 2018
Seriously thou, people can still manage talking about race w/o Megyn. Also she didn't get fired for her comments. She got fired because of her belief.@cenkuygur is way off base here.

Such a surprise that the genocide denier who named his show after the movement which committed said genocide turns out to be a Volunteer Racism Advocate. Who could have predicted that.

also quite positive mr misogyny wouldn't be coming to her defense if he didn't think she was hot.
while we're at it, how often did he defend Melissa Harris-Perry?— burn this to the ground. (@ciarathorne1) October 26, 2018
