It’s simple, really: Williamson is a conservative, and therefore not entitled to any effort on liberals’ part at understanding. Williamson hasn’t hanged any women who’ve had abortions and it seems like a pretty safe bet that he isn’t planning on starting. The only crime he’s actually guilty of is thoughtcrime. How ironic that a supposed beacon of free speech like the Atlantic is indulging the liberal lynch mob and punishing him for it.
