Likely even then her team knew she was unpopular, and whether or not you agreed with Joe Biden’s policies, it’s clear many Democrats (and even some Republicans) would have supported him over her during the primary.
And as we have seen, the DNC was set on rigging their own primary from way back when so she could run.
