In the Orlando terror aftermath, while Democrats are calling for all sorts of bans on assault weapons (even though many of them still can’t define exactly what an assault weapon is), Pink Pistols, a gay gun rights group, is calling for the opposite action. Via their website, Pink Pistols “teaches queers to shoot,” because “armed queers don’t get bashed.”

Gwendolyn Patton, First Speaker of the Pink Pistols, released a statement that read in part, “The Pink Pistols gives condolences to all family and friends of those killed and injured at Pulse. This is exactly the kind of heinous act that justifies our existence. At such a time of tragedy, let us not reach for the low-hanging fruit of blaming the killer’s guns. Let us stay focused on the fact that someone hated gay people so much they were ready to kill or injure so many. A human being did this. The human being’s tools are unimportant when compared to the bleakness of that person’s soul. I say again, GUNS did not do this.” (Read the full statment)

This sentiment of course is contrary to other gay activists like Perez Hilton who have called for bans and accused the NRA of being a terrorist organization.

While activists are blaming everyone and everything BUT Islamic terrorism, Pink Pistols refuses to play the victim, huzzah!
