What Would Happen to a Rapist With No Police or Prisons? DSA Rep. Doesn't Want to Talk Hypotheticals

Democratic Socialists of America Co-Chair Megan Romer has been making a lot of media appearances lately, saying things that DSA candidates running as Democrats can't say. Romer is sticking to the DSA charter, which doesn't seem to have been planned out very well. The New Yorker asked her what "We believe in taxing the hell out of millionaires" means. She didn't, you know, have like a solid answer to that question. When asked about the DSA's position on open borders, she answered, "It means reforming the system we have while we rethink the system, while we build this new one from the ground up, and then hopefully eventually flipping the switch." This level of thought isn't surprising from someone who says she got most of her news from Jon Stewart on The Daily Show.

We're not sure who is speaking for the Los Angeles chapter of the DSA here, but she's about as articulate. When asked by the host if someone raped and assaulted his daughter, who would track them down and bring them to justice if there were no police and no prisons, she decided she didn't want to talk about hypotheticals. What we need is better street lights. We can all agree on that.

That's exactly what she'd say if she were being honest. They'd try to find the root problems in society that led the man to become a rapist and address those.
