Matt Kemp, the early favorite to win the National League MVP, has been placed on the 15-day DL for the first time in his career.

Prior to sitting out Monday night’s 3-1 win over the Diamondbacks, Kemp had baseball’s longest games played streak of 399.

The hamstring injury comes as a huge blow to the Dodgers, who own baseball’s best record at 24-11.
