Tampa Bay Rays All-Star third baseman Evan Longoria has been diagnosed with a hamstring injury that will likely keep him out 6-8 weeks.

Longoria, who played just 133 games last season, has been mashing the ball in 2012. The loss of the 2008 AL Rookie of the Year is a huge blow to the Rays, who are a league-best 9-1 at home this season. If only they had fans in attendance to enjoy a record like that.
