The 12/12/12 concert for Hurricane Sandy is taking place tonight and you can still catch the show until midnight livestreaming here. Old rockers and young pop stars alike pitched in. NBC anchor Brian Williams is hosting. Viewers caught a rather embarrassing faux pas from the veteran journalist, who referred to The Who’s Pete Townshend as your “uncle, Keith Moon.”
The Who’s drummer, Moon died in 1978. And now he’s trending on Twitter.
Leave it to profanity by Pete Townshend and a goof by Brian Williams to get "Keith Moon" to trend 34 years after he died. #121212Concert

How much of a dork do you have to be to be Brian Williams' age & not know the difference between Pete Townshend (alive) & Keith Moon (dead)

The Who sounded amazing tonight but why did Brian Williams call Pete Townshend "Keith Moon"? Maybe he'll call Kanye "Mr. Kardashian"

Shhhhh. He's on a roll. RT @angeladallman: Did Brian Williams just call Pete Townshend, Keith Moon? #journalisticmalpractice
