Come on, he’s a “real journalist,” guys!
This guy is serious, and on CNN. “@ryanjreilly: I believe these are rubber bullets, can anyone confirm? #Fergurson http://t.co/7mNDcSjzNK”
— Kyle Underwood (@wx8) August 17, 2014
That’s right. Huffington Post justice reporter Ryan Reilly confused rubber bullets with ear plugs. Yes, ear plugs. The mockery was swift and righteous (and side-splitting). But, to be fair, perhaps there is a snicker-worthy reason why the journo didn’t know the difference?

Mistaking earplugs for rubber bullets is a mistake any excitable four-year-old could make.

Yep. Get out of your Ivory Tower for just a spell, Mr. Reilly. We promise, it doesn’t hurt. And maybe you’ll learn a thing or two.
But first, he must appear on CNN:
I'm on CNN at the top of the hour, then unplugging for a few hours to get some much-needed rest. (CC: @ariannahuff) #thrive

What should be discussed?
@ryanjreilly @ariannahuff be sure you discuss those rubber bullets (aka: ear plugs)

Heh. A question:

Bam.
A good suggestion as well:

And, yes, journos supporting Reilly, the criticism IS justified:
Criticism of @ryanjreilly is silly. He's in the thick of it, had humility to know he wasn't sure about something, asked for clarification.
