Hey “crazies,” don’t you dare hold Cosmopolitan social media editor Elisa Benson responsible for her own words! What did she say? Well, as Twitchy reported, the winner of the Miss USA pageant was asked a question about sexual assault on college campuses. She suggested women learn how to defend themselves. The horror! Cue feminist freak-out, natch.
Cosmo’s Ms. Benson enlightened everyone with her thoughts about Miss Nevada’s answer: Oh so “icky.”
I get that the college sexual assault problem can't be solved in 30 secs but still icky to pretend like self defense is the answer. #MissUSA

Icky old guns and stuff. That’s for boys, huh Ms. Benson? Wow, you’ve come a long way baby.
Icky? What, is she 12? @GPollowitz @elisabenson

To borrow a line from the left, always important to remember social/class privilege of those who consider self-defense. "Icky"

And their forgetfulness:
. @elisabenson from Cosmopolitan, "How to Save Your Ass with Self-Defense" http://t.co/IaHUfel1E8 Thoughts?

Oops.
Twitter users rightly gave Ms. Benson the business.
@elisabenson what I 'd prefer is to not be raped. What I can control is my ability to defend myself. Don't tell women to disarm.

.@elisabenson I'm guessing if a college rapist is shot in the balls, word would spread pretty fucking fast not to try it again.
— Stephen Miller (@redsteeze) June 9, 2014
It's irresponsible for @elisabenson to suggest that Women shouldn't learn self defense. Very. #MissUSA
— Mickey White (@BiasedGirl) June 9, 2014
Telling women that self defense is not the answer to protecting yourself is one of the most irresponsible things I've ever read in my life.

Yes @elisabenson, can't think of anything as "icky" as an empowered woman defending herself from attack. Well besides being raped/assaulted.
— don't come for me (@elisabethlehem) June 9, 2014
Bingo. Empowerment? Not so much.
Things that have never stopped a rape – feminism. #YesAllWomen
— Stephen Miller (@redsteeze) June 9, 2014
Yep. Once again, it is feminists and the Left who have a war on women. Defend yourselves? Heaven forfend. Just let them pat you on the head while you scurry to make them some sammiches.
And an exit question for Cosmopolitan:
.@elisabenson @Anna__B92 @Cosmopolitan So is that Cosmo's official position? Women don't defend yourself when attacked?
