Missouri voters made their way to the ballot box today, to vote in several primary races, including the GOP Senate primary. This is an important race; who will go up against the bravely running away Claire McCaskill? They are also voting on a few ballot measures. Polls are now closed.
Missouri’s own Dana Loesch, of Breitbart.com, is on the scene.
Just voted. #MO http://t.co/R4NbZR1c

Before the #MO SOS's site crashed, I saw Clay Thunderhawk had 10 votes to Gov. Nixon's 72. Poor guy's probably really pumped. #midmovotes

Heh. But not looking good for Democrat Carnahan?

Clearly @RobinCarnahan has one foot out the door in #MO. Election returns not loading on the SoS website!

Reportedly, turn-out is quite low.
?? Wow. RT @DLoesch I'm really disappointed to hear that the projected turnout tonight in #MO is 26%. That's unacceptable.

Polls are also closed in Michigan. Michael Moore weighs in and, of course, pulls the “ZOMG, voter ID laws” card. However, someone at the polls apparently has a snarky sense of humor.
Just voted in MI primary. Clerk asked 4 my IDcard. I told her I don't like this law. She snapped"What DO u like, Michael?" "Kittens" I said.
— Michael Moore (@MMFlint) August 8, 2012
Oh, snap, Michael. She has your number. You and your incessant whining and falsity-filled moaning.
Twitchy will monitor the elections and update as results roll in.

It also appears Susan Montee is running away with the Dem Lt. Gov race. #MO

22% reporting, and Lager and Kinder both have more votes for Lt Gov than entire DEM #MO field. Can't see what counties are reporting, tho.

Update: Former Michigan GOP Rep. Pete Hoekstra hung on and survived a Tea Party challenge from businessman Clark Durant for the Senate GOP nomination. He takes on entrenched Democratic incumbent Sen. Debbie Stabenow:
Hoekstra wins Michigan GOP primary for US Senate – Time to Pull Together to DEFEAT Debbie Stabenow!http://t.co/XCBfPJmL

Congrats to @PeteHoekstra on winning GOP Senate nomination in Michigan. http://t.co/oWjxHicV #MISEN

While GOP officials rally behind Hoekstra, many grass-roots conservatives see missed opportunity:
Hoekstra nomination in Michigan is missed opportunity to field stronger candidate against weakened Stabenow.

In the 6th Congressional District of Michigan, GOP Rep. Fred Upton won decisively over another Tea Party challenger:

if Dick Lugar had run his primary race like Fred Upton, he'd still be a senator.
— andysere (@andysere) August 8, 2012
@andysere I'm glad he didn't. Dick Lugar outlived his usefulness. We need new GOP senators who are going up there for blood.
