That is Mitt Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom. See, Mitt Romney made a surprise stop at Solyndra headquarters today. Oh, yes, he did.

In a very smart move, Team Mitt kept it a secret for added oomph.

More from ABC News:

“The reason for keeping it quiet is because we knew if word got out that Solyndra would do everything in their power and the Obama administration would do everything in their power to stop us from having this news conference,” an aide said in a briefing en route. “But taxpayers made a substantial investment in Solyndra, there are serious questions about what happened at Solyndra, why that investment was selected, what happened to that money.”

Solyndra is the failed California-based solar technology company that received more than $500 million in federal stimulus money before it went bankrupt last year. It has since become a mantle of Romney’s argument that Obama doesn’t know how to run the economy.

Because, you know, he doesn’t know how to run an economy. And Solyndra shows crony capitalism at its worst. The Obama administration gave them over $500 billion for “green” projects; $535 billion of taxpayer money. They went bankrupt. Too big to fail?

Twitter was buzzing with the news and provided more live photos from the presser.

Nice.

As Twitchy reported earlier, David Axelrod was thrown totally off his lying game at another event and this surprise presser by Romney is sure to have rattled him more.

Conservatives on Twitter were tickled pink (but not pinko!) by this turn of events. Mitt Romney is showing some fighting spirit and conservatives are saying it’s about time.

Good move, Mitt Romney. More like this, please. Remember, no more Mr. Nice Guy.
