Another Mother's Day has come and gone, and we're tidying up after a wonderful celebration. This holiday has become so much more meaningful now that my children are older and find heartfelt ways to honor me. In the past, it was lackluster—my former husband dismissed it, saying, 'You're not my mother,' despite my role as the mother of his child and my efforts to celebrate him on Father's Day. Back then, the day was often saved only by a sweet preschool craft thoughtfully sent home by a teacher. Today, however, was truly special. My son treated me to a delightful brunch and gifted me beautiful flowers and a heartfelt card. My daughter surprised me with matching Mother/Daughter necklaces, a touching symbol of our bond. It was a lovely, joy-filled day.
Happy Mother’s Day to all my friends in Twitter land. I enjoyed the day with my Mom and my children and my future DIL’s parents. I feel very blessed. pic.twitter.com/h6ReZrWlDW

Motherhood is the greatest gift and most profound achievement of my life. I've made countless mistakes—too many to tally—but my children are the one perfect thing I've done. They are my daily reminder to surrender control, keeping me grounded in prayer and humility. God's grace was boundless when He entrusted me with my two incredible children. Here's a secret I never would have believed when they were young: watching them grow into adults has been a beautiful journey. I fretted endlessly about the day they wouldn't need me anymore, but I've discovered that their need for me hasn't vanished—it’s simply evolved. Now, we share deep, meaningful conversations and laugh with a warmth that only comes from years of love and shared memories.
My son has welcomed his future wife into our family, and her presence has added such joy and vibrancy to our dynamic. To anyone fearing their children growing up: don’t. It’s a new season, every bit as rich and rewarding as the early years. I look forward with hope and prayer to the day my daughter meets her husband, bringing even more love and spice to our close-knit family. The future shines bright with possibility.
If you have the chance, I wholeheartedly encourage you to embrace motherhood. Don’t let the world convince you that careers, travel, or other pursuits outweigh the profound joy of raising children. Pets are wonderful—dogs bring so much love—but they can’t compare to the unique bond of parenthood. Yes, your life will transform in countless ways, and the early years can be challenging, so choose a supportive partner wisely. But as time unfolds, you’ll be grateful you chose to share your life with a family, not just a partner. Motherhood is a legacy of love, and it’s worth every moment.
Tomorrow is Mother’s Day.

If you want to understand the birth rate decline, I implore you, go on TikTok tomorrow.
It’s become an annual train wreck I absolutely cannot look away from. Women, en masse, log on in tears to record how badly their day went - it usually involves…
A recent thread on Twitter explores why some young women are turning away from motherhood, citing concerns like loss of identity and unsupportive partners. At its core, the decision hinges on two key principles: embracing a life where you’re not always the center of your world and choosing a co-parent whose qualities you’d want your children to inherit. Here’s a simple, foolproof test: if you’re dating someone and can’t wholeheartedly say, 'I’d want a child just like them,' end the relationship. Staying risks an unintended pregnancy with someone who doesn’t align with your vision of a great parent. If you can’t confidently affirm that one small sentence, they’re not the right parenting match for you. It’s a clear, unwavering standard for building a family with purpose and confidence.
Happy Mother's Day to all our dear Readers. My family appreciates your contribution to our lives immensely.
