Khalil’s Arrest Video: Cry Me a River, I Won’t Shed a Tear

AP Photo/Mary Altaffer, File

Today, the ACLU shared a video featuring a Columbia protester, now facing deportation, as he was arrested, leaving behind his pregnant wife. The footage, likely intended to evoke sympathy, captures a tense scene. In the background, his wife can be heard pleading with ICE agents—asking for their names, demanding to know where they’re taking him, and imploring them not to handcuff him, her voice growing more desperate as the moment unfolds

Having been a pregnant woman myself, I can relate to the whirlwind of emotions and the sense of losing control she must have felt. But sympathy? That I can’t offer. When you build a life with someone who engages in criminal behavior—especially in a country where he’s not a citizen—you can’t expect smooth sailing. What’s more, instead of being home with his wife as her due date approaches, he chose to vandalize buildings and intimidate Jewish students. That was a decision. A poor one, perhaps, but a decision all the same.

This leads me to my next point. The agents treated him fairly. They informed his wife of his destination. They didn’t rough him up or degrade him. If only the group he aligns with, Hamas, had shown the same decency to the innocent Israelis they brutally murdered and abducted on October 7. Compare this to the footage captured by Hamas fighters and Palestinian civilians that night—scenes of sheer terror, devoid of any trace of courtesy or dignity.

Moreover, recall the videos from the Columbia protests. Students couldn’t even attend their classes. They were shouted at and spat on. That’s the stark reality of what this ‘man’ inflicted on others.

It looks nothing like that at all. It actually looks like a civilized country is arresting a man to remove him from said country because he did not know how to behave.

It was nice to see something done about those protestors who ruined the college experience of many Jewish students last year. It's about time. Why should Khalil be allowed to come to America, enjoy our fine country and then terrorize people who are citizens?

Men like Khalil are cancer to a free society. The sooner he is gone, the better.
