Josh Stumpenhorst is a 6th grade teacher at Lincoln Junior High School in Naperville, Illinois. In 2012, the Illinois State Board of Education honored him as Teacher of the Year.
Judging by some of his recent tweets, Stumpenhorst is no fan of the Common Core-aligned Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) test. Millions of students across the nation will be taking the PARCC test this year.
The school official, a superintendent in Illinois, wrote: “As we learn more about the assessment, we grow wary. We are concerned about the amount of instructional time it will displace, the impact this will have on students, and the usefulness of the results.”
