In the wake of the brutal, cold-blooded murder of two New York Police Department officers earlier today, actress Stacey Dash called for New York mayor Bill de Blasio’s resignation:

Dash is a staunch supporter of New York police, God bless her:

Her tweets have sparked so much animosity that her name has become a trending topic:

Here is a tiny sampling of the vitriol aimed at Dash this evening:

In other words, the usual nonsense that we’ve come to expect from the Left.

Many of her critics seized on her use of the word “jihad” to describe the divisive anti-police rhetoric of Mayor de Blasio and Rev. Al Sharpton:

Yes, let’s do that.

According to Merriam-Webster, one of two definitions of the word “jihad” is “a crusade for a principle or belief.”

According to Dictionary.com one of two definitions of “jihad” is “any vigorous, emotional crusade for an idea or principle.”

In short, she used the word correctly.

And, unfortunately for her critics, she isn’t backing down:

If only Dash’s critics hated cop-killers as much they hate the actress for speaking truth to criminal-coddling power.
