Sen. Chris Coons, D-Del., just sent out a tweet demanding that Americans “Stop Freaking Out” about Ebola. This on the same day we learned that a nurse who was wearing full protective gear contracted the virus in Dallas.
The words in the tweet are from the headline of an article by Jonathan Cohn in The New Republic. So they’re not the Senator’s own words. But still.
Cohn’s article, published four days ago, says “In the U.S., there’s just one confirmed case—that of Thomas Duncan, the Liberian man who passed away in Dallas on Wednesday.” That, of course, is no longer true.
Update:
FWIW, that least tweet was just the headline of the story being linked-to.

Notice he doesn’t say he disagrees with the headline.
