Yesterday, the Department of Health and Human Services announced that 2.1 million people have signed up for private health insurance plans through Obamacare. As Twitchy noted, however, HHS still is not saying how many of those people have paid their premiums. Under the administration’s “expanded definition” of enrollment, people are considered enrolled if they have simply placed a plan in their online shopping cart.

We have a feeling that some (most?) of the freshly-minted Obamacare “enrollees” have not paid premiums and have not been officially confirmed by any insurer.

Meanwhile, an estimated 4 to 5 million Americans in the individual market have received cancellation notices as a direct result of Obamacare.

None of which stopped HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius from bragging about “millions of newly insured Americans.”
