Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy.
Retired South African archbishop Desmond Tutu’s foundation launched a Twitter account this week, only to have it suspended for “aggressive following.”
Twitter has not explained how following 30 people could be construed as “aggressive following” or whether the number of people who followed @TutuLegacy in a short space of time was to blame.
While the account is not verified by Twitter, a spokesman confirmed it had been suspended.
The account was restored after several hours.
Archbishop Tutu and Mpho Tutu @TutuLegacy are back on @Twitter, who have apologised for automated system that suspended account. #Tutu

According to the Desmond and Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation, Twitter apologized for automated systems erroneously removing the account.
Hello,
Twitter has automated systems that find and remove multiple automated spam accounts in bulk. Unfortunately, it looks like your account got caught up in one of these spam groups by mistake.
I’ve restored your account; sorry for the inconvenience.
Please note that it may take an hour or so for your follower and following numbers to return to normal.
Thanks,

Twitter says it's 'sorry for the inconvenience' over our suspension. We got caught up in a spam clean up. Glad it wasn't something we said.
