Rep. Jim Jordan: Lerner enjoys her constitutional rights, but thousands of citizens don't get answers about violation of theirs. #IRSHearing

Evidently telling the truth is as hard as math when you’re IRS official Lois Lerner. She stuck to her plan and refused to testify before the House Oversight Committee Wednesday. Yes, she asserted her Constitutional right to deny Americans answers about their violated rights.
But before clamming up, Lerner yammered about her innocence.

Lerner repeats to every Issa question "I will not answer any questions or testify today." Issa dismisses Lerner. #fnr

Lerner: "I have not done anything wrong [but my lawyer isn't so sure]."

Lois Lerner has the worst lawyers in the world. That opening staement was likely perjurious, THEN she clammed up.

Lerner's "I have not. done. any. thing. wrong" destined to become as oft-replayed as Clinton's "I did not have sex with that woman." #IRS

Wonder what @BarackObama will think of Lois Lerner pleading the 5th when he hears about it in the news later tonight. #IRS

Basically Lerner gets to say she is innocent, but nothing else? WTH?

Lerner, "I have not done anything wrong". And in a few minutes I will plead the 5th.

And indeed she did.
Lois Lerner I an very proud of my work so I will plead the 5th WTF?

GOP Rep. Jim Jordan won big points for pointing out exactly what Lerner was doing by pleading the Fifth.
Jordan on irony: Lerner gets to assert her constitutional rights after denying many Americans answers about theirs. #IRS

Good on Rep. Jim Jordan. He points out that Lerner exercised her rights, rights she denied American citizens. #IRS

I bet targeted Tea Party groups would have really liked to say to the IRS "Nah, we won't answer the questions you asked. #cowardlerner #IRS
— Katie Pavlich (@KatiePavlich) May 22, 2013
Jim Jordan: The irony is inescapable. Ms. Lerner gets to use her rights not to answer yet rights of thousands were denied. #IRS

Back to work for Lois!
Witch hunter Lois Lerner and counsel are dismissed. Your #IRS stonewallers at work! #IRSHearing @GOPoversight
— Michelle Malkin (@michellemalkin) May 22, 2013
Here's a scary thought: Lerner just plead the fifth, left the chamber early and returned to her job.

If you're a gov't employee and you refuse to testify at a congressional oversight hearing, you must be fired.
— Drew McCoy (@_Drew_McCoy_) May 22, 2013
Providing information about your work to Congress is part of a federal employees job. If for any reason you can't do that, you must go
— Drew McCoy (@_Drew_McCoy_) May 22, 2013
Completely agree with @DrewMTips. If Lerner refuses to testify, she should be fired. 5th amendment doesn't protect her job.
