Amanda Bynes’ very public downward spiral continues.

Last month she announced that she has an eating disorder and she says her parents are out of the picture.

And on Wednesday, the troubled 27-year-old actress tweeted topless bathroom selfies.

In a since-deleted tweet, Jenny McCarthy announced that the police were at Bynes’ home and hoped that someone would get her the help she needs. McCarthy’s tweet was based on a series of tweets from Jonathan Jaxson, reportedly a former publicist for Bynes.

Most of Jaxson’s tweets about Bynes have been deleted and police have not confirmed that they visited Bynes’ home.

When Bynes spotted the tweets, she freaked out on McCarthy.

She also retweeted this:

McCarthy responded:

And just like that, the tweet-spat came to an end, with most of the exchange deleted from Twitter.

A celeb intervention might not have done the trick, but it’s pretty clear someone needs to help Bynes instead of exploiting her like this:

Let’s hope someone in Bynes’ life steps in to help save her. And soon.
