The 2013 Smart Girl Summit is scheduled to kick off in Indianapolis on August 9.

The gathering of conservative activists draws smart girls and guys from all over the country. In previous years, the agenda included Reps. Michele Bachmann, Tom Price and Cathy McMorris-Rogers, Herman Cain, Liz Cheney, Andrew Breitbart, Michelle Malkin and Dana Loesch. But one invitee of note isn’t interested, says Smart Girl Politics co-founder Teri Christoph: Sen. Marco Rubio.

Good question. According to Christoph, Rubio’s schedulers don’t find SGP “important enough.” They’re in good company with the staffers of oh-so-successful presidential candidates Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich.
