What was the Associated Press’ terrible, no-good mistake in that tweet that required a correction?
Air raid sirens in Jerusalem signal a possible rocket attack aimed at Israel's self-declared capital: http://t.co/2IvxEBza -KH (correction)
— The Associated Press (@AP) November 16, 2012
That’s right: Jerusalem is Israel’s “self-declared capital,” according to the AP. Guess that’s a step up from the BBC which won’t recognize Jerusalem as the capital at all.
@AP You had it right the first time. Jerusalem IS the capital of Israel, no matter what @TheDemocrats want to think.

@AP does every country not self declare their capital? why can't you simply say Jerusalem Israel's capital, after all that's what it is

As of 10:40 a.m. ET, the Associated Press article linked in that tweet still refers to Jerusalem as “Israel’s capital.” But evidently, the news organization developed new standards for Twitter after coming under criticism from UN boosters.
