Well this is a new spin on the Twitter death hoax.
Not only have thousands and thousands of people tweeted about the death of the Navy SEAL who killed Osama bin laden — they’ve even given him a name.
R.I.P. Todd Jones. The Navy Seal that killed Osama Bin Laden died in action today. Retweet in his honor! ??

But sickeningly, this American hero seems to have been targeted by Twitter assassins. Here’s the first clue that this is yet another death hoax:

In addition, there are no credible sources reporting the death.
No way this Todd Jones thing is real. No source confirming a death & common sense suggests nobody leaked name of guy who killed Bin Laden.

The Navy Times has also debunked this rumor.
SEAL who shot Osama was killed? Nope, it’s a death hoax http://t.co/YLKz0rRX #Navy #News

A Navy Personnel Command official told the Navy Times that they don’t even have a SEAL named Todd Jones in their database.
