Once again, Google has ignored the sacrifices made on the beaches of Normandy.
The first drive-in movie theater opened 79 yrs ago today. Grab some popcorn & celebrate w/ a video doodle in the US http://t.co/v3SeIw6n

Guess the 68th anniversary of D-Day isn’t a barrel of kitschy laughs like a good drive-in flick.
Someone explain to me why google isn't honoring DDay as their homepage…?

Another reason I despise #Google. No remembrance of #DDay on their search page. But heck yeah..drive in's have to be remembered.

Wow on the Longest Day, Google decides to honor… the drive-in movie theater? WTF?!?! #DDay

Shame on @Google for commemorating Drive-In theaters instead of #D-Day on #DDay #Google

While Google celebrates the Drive-In Theatre. Let us remember this day of incredible bravery and sacrifice http://t.co/ymQoh8Pc

In 2009, Google memorialized Tetris on the anniversary of D-Day. After coming under criticism, there was no special doodle in 2010 and 2011, just the usual Google logo.
Hey, here’s an idea, Google:
Very disappointed @google. If you didn't want to offend other countries today, then show your D-day respect by using the standard logo.#Dday

Or better yet:
dear @google show some respect to the 160k troops who stormed Normandy other wise your website would only be in German #DDay
