Sadly, we now have the winner for the most despicable Mother’s Day tweet of the year. It comes from director and producer Joss Whedon.
Today I gratefully give my mother the gift of having been dead for 25 years and not having to see what a tub of fuckery our country's become

It is difficult to imagine the sheer harshness and insensitivity that went into that tweet.
This is the kind of dumb stuff you say when everything becomes about politics. My mom's been gone for 18 years and I wish she were here. https://t.co/XFqIaVuzUw

"I give my mother the gift of being dead" sounds ridiculously sociopathic, joss https://t.co/dzxXSoyOsw

I honestly have zero words.
No, I actually have a LOT of fucking words, and now you're all going to hear them, because I'm mad.
Very mad. https://t.co/ie7pabo6YF
