The Hill published a headline that referred to South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott as a “black GOP senator.”

Does he have a name?

Making the headline about his color completely detracts from his comments.
His name is Tim Scott, you know. Last time I checked constituents probably did not refer to him as "Black GOP Senator." https://t.co/7orKpai9AD

When’s the last time you saw a headline that read “black Democrat senator”?
“Black.” It’s remarkable. Just as the @AP referred to John James winning in MI Tuesday as “black businessman.” The conversation and coverage surrounding people of color by the media and political left has been notably egregious this week. https://t.co/GyDWSDhcB4

It isn’t the most egregious headline ever written, but referring to an accomplished senator such as Scott (or anyone) by a physical attribute undermines who he is and the work that he has done to be in his current position.
