Yesterday, Twitchy reported on the #TwitterSilence protest that was organized for women to boycott the site because of the constant threats of violence and rape toward them. Scheduled for today, the ‘Twitter walkout’ has not had a lot of impact.

Michelle Malkin and other women have made it clear that they will not allow their voices to be silenced.
Well-behaved women rarely make history. Silent women sit on the sidelines & let others write history for them. NO to #twittersilence .

Some pointed out the irony of #TwitterSilence trending.
What is #twittersilence and, isn't it rather ironic that it is trending?
— Tom F (@tomf80) August 4, 2013
Wait… So #TwitterSilence is trending? But… How is it silent if… Never mind…
— Sharon (@SBroadie) August 4, 2013
@nataliemcgarry #twittersilence is trending. Think that just about says it all.
— Propulsar (@Barlowfarlow) August 4, 2013
How could #twittersilence possibly trend? Unless it's everyone talking about it being ridiculous. I suppose that's a possibility.
— thatlesleychick (@thatlesleychick) August 4, 2013
#Twittersilence has been trending all day long #irony
— John Mullins (@johnmullinz) August 4, 2013
