Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte is under fire after his office confirmed that he’s on a “personal trip” outside the United State and not expected to return as the state and Yellowstone National Park deal with devastating flooding:

From the Governor’s office:
Governor’s office says he left late last week for a personal trip and will return within a few days. They say he’s regularly briefed and in communication with officials, and asked lt. gov. to visit Red Lodge today and meet with those impacted. #mtnews #mtpol pic.twitter.com/aI9w89qlvZ

Piper Perabo, who plays Summer Higgins, the prog love interest to Kevin Costner’s John Dutton character on the hit television show “Yellowstone,” was particularly pissed at Gov. Gianforte for not returning from his trip.
She tweeted:
“Our beautiful @YellowstoneNPS & the great state of #Montana are suffering days of disastrous flooding and Montana Governor Greg Gianforte is traveling out of the United States and hasn’t come home and his office won’t say where he is!!🤯🤬 #FireGianforte.”

If you don’t watch the show, Piper’s character first got arrested at a protest orchestrated by John Dutton’s daughter:

Then she slept with John:

But went to prison anyway:

Now, we don’t know what’s in store for Piper’s character in Season 5, but maybe this rant will make it into the show in some way?
If you live in #Montana please be sure you’re registered to vote and get rid of Greg Gianforte.

Piper does know that there’s a Lieutenant Governor in the state, right?

And Gov. Gianforte is being apprised of what’s going on, wherever he is:
After working with FEMA yesterday to pursue an expedited presidential major disaster declaration for flooding in our state, we today submitted our formal request to @POTUS.
Securing the declaration will help our communities with our shared response, recovery, and rebuilding.

The flooding has closed down portions of Yellowstone National Park:

We will continue to communicate about this hazardous situation as more information is available. More info: https://t.co/mymnqGvcVB pic.twitter.com/S5ysi4wf8a

And it’s expected that it will take some time before it is safe to reopen:
⚠️UPDATE (6/14 @ 6:38pm)⚠️
Northern portion of Yellowstone likely to remain closed for substantial length of time due to severely damaged, impacted infrastructure. “Yellowstone,” the show, is also asking for donations to help the recovery:
Yellowstone National Park is an American treasure and our show’s namesake. Please consider joining us in donating to the Red Lodge Area Community Foundation, who are currently on the ground providing disaster relief and helping with recovery efforts. https://t.co/YOZSuZUp3F
