A few months ago, Alberto Carvalho, the current superintendent for Miami-Dade County Public Schools, announced he’s leaving Florida to take the job as the next superintendent of the Los Angeles Unified School District:

And here is, unmasked, meeting with masked students, parents, and teachers during one of his last days on the job:
Today’s dedication of a classroom @SFACS_Autism is a profound honor I will forever cherish. I am grateful for our unwavering partnership throughout the years and the impact we collectively had on beautifully-abled children in our community. pic.twitter.com/yxavz50Cl9

Now, in Florida, masks are optional for students but in Los Angeles (many still wear them). But, where he’s going, they just put in place more stringent mask policies:
Attention Los Angeles Unified families: As a reminder, students will be required to wear a non-cloth mask with a nose wire at all times, including while participating in athletic activities. Schools will provide surgical-style masks for students and employees if they need them. pic.twitter.com/0uoDJ3xXvv

So, will Carvalho free students from the mask requirement as he seems totally fine going without one himself?
A bittersweet moment for me today as I embrace the opportunities ahead of me knowing well what and who I am leaving behind. Thank you for the warm farewell, the beautiful performance, the years of friendship and the unforgettable memories @MASzeldaglazer. pic.twitter.com/TYDMFh8KmW
