Last week, we told you how Virginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe accepted the endorsement of current Gov. Ralph Northam despite McAuliffe having called for his resignation over the now infamous KKK-blackface yearbook photo:
Great morning here in Norfolk with @RalphNortham. Ready to take it to the next level! pic.twitter.com/BIQAyn44tr

But things are going to get even more problematic for McAuliffe now that he’s literally standing in the way of HERstory as former Virginia delegate Jennifer Carroll Foy announced on Friday that she’s also running and if she won, she’d be the very first “Black Woman Governor in the History of the United States of America”:
My name is Jennifer Carroll Foy. I’m a Democrat, a public defender, a foster mom, a former Virginia delegate – and I’m going to be the first Black Woman Governor in the history of the United States of America. Please RT and follow this account so we can make history together.

Over to you, Terry:
When I announced I was running for Governor of Virginia, people said they weren’t ready for a Black woman Governor. They told me to wait my turn. But I disagree. I think Virginia is ready. I think America is ready. If you’re ready too, please retweet this far and wide.

He really should have a tough time running against her:
My Grandmother raised me. After she had a stroke, our family was forced to choose between paying for her medicine and our mortgage. As Governor, I’ll fight everyday so that no Virginia family will have to make that choice.

The primary is just 2 months away:
Our election is just 2 months away and Virginians will start voting THIS MONTH. We need every last resource to pull off a win on June 8th. We’re powered by grassroots dollars — will you give just $5 today to help our campaign? https://t.co/scnLyzad13

Foy is already receiving from celebrity endorsements, FWIW:
#VIRGINIA!!!! @JCarrollFoy is running for #governor! She is a public defender*, foster mom, former #VA delegate and will be the FIRST BLACK GOVERNOR in history!

If Dems actually believe what they say, McAuliffe should drop out now:
I have been supporting Jennifer Carroll Foy since she first ran for House of Delegates. She is the REAL DEAL. Forget the white dudes… SHE should be the next governor of VA! https://t.co/r85B80mOVv

But we all know he won’t.
