The Senate on Friday voted to override President Trump’s veto of the $740 million defense spending bill:

This was actually the first time it has happened in his presidency:

President Trump had wanted “the bill to include limits on social media companies” and he “opposed language allowing for the renaming of some military bases”:

President Trump ripped the Republican Senate for this missed opportunity:

Senators Perdue and Loeffler, who both voted in favor of the bill previously, were not in attendance for today’s vote. Sen. Perdue is in quarantine because of a Covid contact, Sen. Loeffler is in Georgia ahead of the Jan. 5 runoffs:
