Chris Hayes, as you’d imagine, is not a fan of President Donald Trump’s restrictive policies on immigration:
I find myself obsessively running thought experiments of what the president could say about immigrants that would be a breaking point, and and feeling panic that the answer is: nothing.

But as we pointed out to him, voters like it!
At what point does it become clear that voters want tougher border security and it's not just Trump pushing this? https://t.co/cmC57ujwtb

He told us to go look at how well the “wall” polls in response:
have you seen the polling on the wall?
— Chris Hayes (@chrislhayes) June 19, 2018
OK, let’s do just that! In a brand new poll out from CBS News, 32% want the wall completed and think it’s a good idea, 19% want to give the wall a try even though they don’t know if it will work and 48% think the wall is a bad idea:

The poll also shows that Americans want a tough border policy that deports those caught crossing the border illegally, although they want them deported as family units:
If this poll is right, the most popular policy on migration seems to be to treat them well while here and keep the families together, but also to deport them quickly and try to build a wall, even if it doesn't quite work. https://t.co/De77zJ3lIZ

Your move, Dems. Trump’s policies aren’t polling as bad as you hope they’re polling.
