As we told you earlier, the New York Times’ Maggie Haberman was one of a number of journalists who took issue with Michelle Wolf’s “jokes” directed at White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders at last night’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Here it is again:
That @PressSec sat and absorbed intense criticism of her physical appearance, her job performance, and so forth, instead of walking out, on national television, was impressive.
— Maggie Haberman (@maggieNYT) April 29, 2018
This then triggered liberal Hollywood actor Kumail Nanjiani who asked for Haberman to “please quote the exact line” as well as a cheapshot at her skill as a reporter:
Please quote the exact line that intensely criticized her appearance. You’re a journalist. You should be doing this already. https://t.co/B9aT7moy2C
— Kumail Nanjiani (@kumailn) April 29, 2018
FWIW, Haberman already answered this in her timeline which Nanjiani obviously missed:
The jokes I watched/heard about her eye makeup weren’t making fun of her appearance? What were they?
— Maggie Haberman (@maggieNYT) April 29, 2018
But then, apparently, Haberman unfollowed him which triggered Nanjiani all over again:
I asked @maggieNYT to quote the line where Michelle intensely criticized SHS’s appearance. She unfollowed me.
She has an extremely important job. Making vague statements that she herself cannot back up with facts/quotes isn’t helping.
— Kumail Nanjiani (@kumailn) April 29, 2018
Or maybe Nanjiani unfollowed her first? Welcome to elementary school:
Hadn’t you unfollowed me first? I just try to winnow what comes into the mentions. More importantly – is this level of 16-hour outrage over a tweet about a comment from a comedian a good use of time? Maybe it is for some. But I have other things going on. Have a good one. https://t.co/hCSCAw1etw

Nanjiani ended the back-and-forth with more reporting advice that Haberman do a better job of making her anonymous sources:
Have a good one as well. Truly. You have an essential job. We all need you to do it well.
And, also, it’s become extremely obvious that SHS is one of your sources. I’d do a better job of trying to hide that fact in the future. https://t.co/EEuxbeGseg

Wow. This event is going to be the gift that keeps on giving for days and days.
