Here’s a quick follow up to the Chris Cuomo tweet we told you about earlier where he declared, “in my experience, engaging in gun vocab is mostly a distraction.”
Katie Pavlich was having none of it:
Aren’t you a journalist? When it comes to passing laws and legal ramifications of doing so, language is extremely important. AR-15s aren’t a “style.” They are a sporting rifle. Further, handguns are the most used in mass shootings according to DHS. https://t.co/S2tTLbPpBY

And she’s right about handguns, too. If Cuomo really believes that we should limit the sale of guns used in mass killings, then it’s handguns, not AR-15s that will get banned:
FBI STATS on murders, weapons types
Banning the AR-rifle would not solve a single thing
Rifles: 2.2%
Shotguns: 2.1%
Handguns: 48%
Stabbing: 11.9%
Hands, fist, feet, push: 5.1%https://t.co/ouQuqGZrfa— Sandy 〽️ (@RightGlockMom) February 18, 2018
