Even though the Opening Ceremonies are not for a few more hours, competition has already begun at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea and the U.S. is already kicking some Russian butt.
Round one in mixed doubles curling goes to Team USA, 9-3:

From CNN:
Even though the opening ceremony doesn’t take place until Friday in PyeongChang, some events are already under way and the USA defeated their Russian counterparts in the new discipline of mixed curling. It wasn’t close, either, with brother and sister duo Matt and Becca Hamilton sweeping to a 9-3 win over Anastasia Bryzgalova and Aleksandr Krushelnitckii.
We lost to Canada in the second round, however:

But how can you not love these athletes? Here’s Matt Hamilton before the match (do they call it a match?):
Two heavyweights face off in a border battle as old as time itself. In one corner we have @LKLawes and @johnnymocurler of Team Canada. In the other we have the American #HAMFAM @heccabamilton and @MattJamilton watch these two proud nations face off at 6am. #TeamUSA #TeamCanada pic.twitter.com/zGWzUsTQaA
