In our story earlier today on Ben Rhodes tweeting about the “obits” of Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell and Mike Pence, one of the tweets we included was from AshLee Strong, Speaker Ryan’s national press secretary. Former Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau has since caller her out, tweeting “are you serious right now that you honestly didn’t know what he meant?”
AshLee, are you serious right now that you honestly didn’t know what he meant? You’ve never heard people talk about how they’ll be remembered by referencing the first lines of their obit? I wanna believe this is a genuine misunderstanding because the alternative is pretty dark.

OK, Favs … how about reading some of her replies to that tweet and telling us what your team’s supporters mean?
And if you have any doubts about what rhetoric like @brhodes’ inspires, just look at the responses here. https://t.co/gjYLg7u6cY

Some examples:
Hey AshLee? Your boss is an unconscionable piece of shit and I hope he dies.

Hi AshLee just piling on here to say I hope that when Paul Ryan dies we can all pitch in to force a mad scientist to reanimate his goony-ass body to work in the public sector until it crumbles into dust

Your boss just took a group photo with a serial sexual predator who refuses to condemn neo-Nazis. If you want to take a stand against people who are irresponsible and dangerous, quit your job.

Your boss is sentencing people to death. If the shoe fits….

Hi Ashlee, unlike Rhodes' tweet, your boss is endangering the lives of 9 million children every day chip isn't brought to the floor. That's what irresponsible and dangerous. You have no moral high ground.
— Doc H (@DocH51) December 21, 2017
I actually think it wasn't strong enough. I personally hope your boss suffers an excruciating, tortuous death in public so we can all watch and cheer.

You get the point.
