Chaser. Hereâs why they may be deported:
Paragraph 10: "their green cards were revoked after criminal convictions on charges includingâŚrape and murder." https://t.co/7AF4NbNeGl

Why is it a story that the U.S. is deporting rapists and murderers?
Oh, it gets worse.
According to the NYT, the only reason they werenât deported earlier â like under the Obama administration â was because Iraq wouldnât issue them travel documents:
âThe operation in this region was specifically conducted to address the very real public safety threat represented by the criminal aliens arrested,â said Rebecca Adducci, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement official in Detroit.
The men had been allowed to stay, in some cases for decades, because the Iraqi government had refused to issue travel documents for them to return.
And in a stunning bit of irony, the deportations can move forward because Trump dropped Iraq from his Muslim ban:
That changed in March, when Iraq agreed to begin accepting deportees in exchange for being dropped from the list of countries affected by Mr. Trumpâs revised travel ban, which barred citizens of several predominantly Muslim countries from entering the United States.
So, because Trump listened to liberals and dropped Iraq from his Muslim ban list, theyâre getting deported?
