In the wake of the firing of FBI Director James Comey, Deputy Director Andrew McCabe is now in charge:

His name should sound familiar to Twitchy readers as his wife, Dr. Jill McCabe, took in a reported $467,500 from Gov. Terry McAuliffe’s super PAC in a failed-bid to win a state-senate seat in 2015. We wrote back in October:

The quick and dirty summary is that Gov. McAuliffe’s super PAC donated the $467,500 in a failed attempt to elect Dr. Jill McCabe to the state senate in 2015. She lost the race to the incumbent Republican, but shortly after the election her husband — Andrew McCabe — was promoted to Deputy Director of the FBI and one of his jobs was an “oversight role in the investigation into Secretary Clinton’s emails.”

Oh, and Hillary Clinton actually raised the money that made its way to McCabe’s wife:

Yeah … it just got a whole lot worse. Apparently Hillary Clinton herself was the one who raised the money for the super PAC that set off this entire chain of events in the first place! Alana Goodman of the Daily Mail reports

We bring this up now because it busts the Dem narrative that President Trump got rid of Comey to derail an investigation into his administration as McCabe is now the person in charge of any investigation. McCabe is set to testify in the Senate on Thursday in place of Comey:

Keep in mind, however, that McCabe could soon be on his way out as well. Not only do Republicans hate him…

…but he’s also under investigation by the DOJ for he close ties to Clinton and his role in the email investigation:
