Markus Persson, creator of the widely popular Minecraft sandbox video game, called on Twitter to #FreeMilo Wednesday morning in response to the permanent suspension of Breitbart Tech editor Milo Yiannopoulos over his run-in with “Ghostbusters” actress Leslie Jones and allegations of racist targeting:
I think the guy's a bit of a dick, but for the love of christ, #FreeMilo.
If/when I get suspended too, check https://t.co/OuUw9eOAag— Markus Persson (@notch) July 20, 2016
Persson went on to note that Twitter isn’t consistent with who it bans/suspends:
I've reported tweets worse than anything (well.. almost) Nero's ever said, and the reply is always the same: nope.

As we told you last night, Jones had been the target of racist abuse over her role in the rebooted “Ghostbusters” film with people comparing her to a gorilla. Such as:

Things went of the rails after someone photoshopped posts that made it look like she was attacking Yiannopoulos, which then increased abused directed at Jones:
Please help me find this fake Acct posting the most awful shit in my name. Help! pic.twitter.com/lp4RzVLb6f

The #FreeMilo hashtag has been trending since last night and is currently at No. 2:
