Breaking news out of California where we’re seeing reports of an active shooter situation at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego with occupants “advised to run, hide or fight.”

    On a military base, that would be both the military police/security/law enforcement, as well as the military members on the base. In port onboard ships we had at a bare minimum 3 armed roving watches for a ship that held barely 300 people plus two gate guards posted at each access point to the pier. AND that was in homeport. If we went some place that was slightly more dangerous, we had more. So, on a base, consisting of thousands of people, why not allow the military to defend military property and people?
