An FBI agent reportedly working undercover in a child exploitation sting operation was wounded during a shootout at a Marriott hotel in a suburb of Detroit earlier tonight:

According to Fox 2 Detroit, the agent’s bulletproof vest saved his life and the agent shot and killed the suspect despite getting shot first:

After being wounded in his bullet-proof vest, the agent returned fire shooting and killing the suspect at about 9 p.m. Friday.
But the local CBS affiliate and other outlets say the suspect committed suicide:
