Earlier today Donald Trump took a victory lap over news that Ford had decided to move jobs from a manufacturing plant in Mexico to Ohio. The only problem is that these jobs were moved from Mexico to Ohio in 2011, thanks to John Kasich.
First up, here’s what Trump wrote originally:
Word is that Ford Motor, because of my constant badgering at packed events, is going to cancel their deal to go to Mexico and stay in U.S.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 25, 2015
Do you think I will get credit for keeping Ford in U.S. Who cares, my supporters know the truth. Think what can be done as president!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 25, 2015
And later on, he RT’d a fan who sent a link to back up the claim:
"@DanSaltsman: @realDonaldTrump @Ford @crainsdetroit @detnews @CNBC https://t.co/k2JFVTDDbW Do you think Hillary, Ben or Jeb could do this?

"@hoosierclinger: Good job @realDonaldTrump for badgering Ford. Why didnt POTUS or Hillary care about those UAW jobs in Ohio?"
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 26, 2015
That link is to a site called Prntly (whatever that is) and here’s what it says about the news, with no link:
CNN Money reports that Ford is moving its facility, originally slated for Mexico, back to the United States, where it will employ 1,000 factory workers in struggling Youngstown, Ohio.

Well if Trump is talking about the same story as Prntly, then these are the same jobs saved by John Kasich in 2011:
Nope.
Together OHIO brought Ford back from Mexico: https://t.co/wT81dJ8vcd https://t.co/WN4bpdTFiX

Ford didn't move plant to Ohio from Mexico because of @realDonaldTrump. https://t.co/VJ45hSuiLO It was because of @JohnKasich.

Hey @realDonaldTrump – stop taking credit for Gov. Kasich's work. https://t.co/UyvfnIEB7x #lyingliarwholies

Trump still lying. Ford made this decision four years ago! https://t.co/9fi3sINCPY https://t.co/Il7lPBNb5E
