Former Major League Baseball star and current ESPN analyst Curt Schilling is trending nationally right now thanks to outraged tweeters who took issue with a meme he posted to his Twitter timeline comparing Nazis to Muslims. He has since deleted the tweet, but many users took a screenshot:

And he does still have the photo posted on his Facebook page:

Before pulling the photo down, Schilling did try to defend the meme’s assertion:

But he’s now apologizing for the tweet and taking full responsibility for what he wrote:

Is this enough or will ESPN look to take action against its baseball analyst?

Update. The quick apology wasn’t enough for ESPN:

From Boston.com:

“Curt’s tweet was completely unacceptable, and in no way represents our company’s perspective,” ESPN said in a statement. “We made that point very strongly to Curt and have removed him from his current Little League assignment pending further consideration.”
