The City of Van Meter, Iowa had what could have been the best fundraising idea ever, a $5 raffle for a chance to shoot a city official — either City Administrator Jake Anderson or Councilman Bob Lacy — with a police Taser. Sign us up!
Alas, it’s not meant to be as the ACLU raised a bunch of safety and ethical issues and the Tasing of a human has been called off. Now you just get to shoot a target if you win, which isn’t nearly as much fun:
