We reported yesterday on how Senator Tom Cotton delivered a smack down of Iran’s Foreign Minister Javad Zarif over Zarif’s suggesting that Cotton and other GOP Senators couldn’t stop the U.S. from endorsing the nuclear deal.
And now we have Zarif’s response:
Serious diplomacy, not macho personal smear, is what we need. Congrats on Ur new born. May U and Ur family enjoy him in peace .@SenTomCotton
— Javad Zarif (@JZarif) April 30, 2015
That’s it? Come, on! This is the diplomatic equivalent of “I’m rubber, you’re glue.” Weak!
Notice that Zarif never addressed the substance of what Cotton had to say, too:
@JZarif If what @SenTomCotton said is true, it’s a fact—not a smear. https://t.co/zxbB51RGrp

Exactly. Regardless of the tone of what Sen. Cotton said, he was right.
And let’s not forget that the Iranian regime is truly evil:
@Mwforhr @JZarif yes, it's very adult to be part of a regime that hangs gays. @SenTomCotton

@Mwforhr @JZarif kills people for being gay, beats women for the way they dress. Nothing else matters. @SenTomCotton

@JZarif @SenTomCotton 'Newborn' is one word.

@JZarif There are thousands of innocent lives that your regime has killed. Here is another name for you: Ramin Pourandarjani @SenTomCotton

@JZarif And Farzad Kamangar, an innocent amazing person whose life your regime took http://t.co/PnXD0DcJK3 #humanrightsmatter @SenTomCotton

Or maybe it’s “macho” to do all these things in Iran?
