Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson criticized the dumbing down of the word “awesome” on his Twitter feed yesterday and lamented that it no longer is used to describe things that he considers sufficiently awesome:
Well, yeah. To have more computing power than a moon lander in the palm of your hand that has instant access to information from around the world all for a price billions can afford is pretty darn awesome.
Although the super-scientist had a slightly differently example a year or so ago on just what counts as awesome enough for his tastes:

And what about Tyson cultists? They throw around a whole lotta awesome directed at Dr. Tyson himself. Some examples:
