Danny Zuker, writer and executive producer for ABC’s hit sitcom “Modern Family,” is a little better at writing jokes about fake people on a TV show than he is about real-life politicians:

Not even a chuckle for that clunker of a joke.

Zuker also misses that Obama birtherism started with Hillary Clinton in 2008, and not Donald Trump. From Politico:

Where did this idea come from? Who started it? And is there a grain of truth there?

The answer lies in Democratic, not Republican politics, and in the bitter, exhausting spring of 2008. At the time, the Democratic presidential primary was slipping away from Hillary Clinton and some of her most passionate supporters grasped for something, anything that would deal a final reversal to Barack Obama.

And this might come as a shock to Zuker, but there are Ted Cruz birthers that, despite the color of his skin, continue to insist that he isn’t eligible to be president:

Prediction: There will be an equally unfunny, “Is Manny Delgado eligible to run for president” joke in the very near future.
